Baptist Rural Support Services
has been established to assist rural
and remote churches in NSW.
As rural populations decline or undergo dramatic
demographic change, as the farming sector struggles with ever reducing
commodity prices, as banks close and local spending moves to the larger
regional centers, so the viability of many communities and churches is
threatened.
BRSS has been
established to provide the support and resources needed by rural and
remote churches. There is, however, no generic solution. Though there
are broad issues affecting rural Australia generally, each rural and
remote community faces problems specific to itself.
The crisis facing rural communities is widespread and
complex. It requires specific attention and action.
